Pauline Kiernan

Pauline Kiernan is a Play Therapist working in private practice in Celbridge, Co Kildare. As a Play Therapist Pauline works in different settings including, schools, family support centres and in her own practice Seraphim Play Therapy and Parenting Support in Celbridge. Pauline is a member of The Irish Association of Play Therapists & Psychotherapists and adheres to the Ethical Principles and Code of Good Practice set out by the I.A.P.T.P
Pauline holds a B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from U.C.D. and a Diploma in Play Therapy from the Children's Therapy Centre in Westmeath. She is currently studying for a Masters degree in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy and Play Therapy at the Children's Therapy Centre. Pauline has over 20 years experience working in family support in a variety of settings, having most recently worked in the Balgaddy Child and Family Centre in Lucan, Co Dublin, and as the Co-ordinator of Home-Start Lucan, a family support service supporting families with children under 5 years of age.
Pauline began her career working in a residential and educational centre in England for young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. Her next role would be as a Rehabilitation Psychologist for the Rehab Group. Once Pauline had children of her own she realised that there was little support and information available for parents. This inspired her to design and deliver her own Parenting Programme, Building Blocks, in 1993. Pauline has studied and delivered many parenting programmes over the years, including; Veritas, Parent Plus and The Incredible Years programmes. She has also facilitated Introduction to Psychology, Child Psychology, Stress and Anxiety Management, and Play Therapy courses and workshops.
